The art of realizing meaningful coincidence in the seemingly mundane with mystical or esoteric significance."

69, 2(0)17? Coincidence, or Just a Plate of Shrimp?

The almost full moon over the
'Day on the Green'
last Sunday
I saw Don Henley from the 'Eagles' play at a local winery on Sunday night and the lady next to me asked how old Don was now.
I said that I wasn't sure, but that he would have to be in his early 70s.
Turns out he is 69.
Don's Dirty Laundry Downunder
Donald Hugh "Don" Henley (born July 22, 1947)
But here's the weird 69 thing here, I re-read this old post this morning and was reading about 'Hotel California''s lyrics where the year 1969 is mentioned and where Stephen King (who happens to be 69 this year as well) mentions 1969 in his novel 'The Shining'
The Shinings, Coincidence, or Just a Plate of Shrimp?
Room 2(0)17?!
"It's funny that Kubrick didn't bother using the song 'Bad Moon Rising' in the movie, as King has it playing on a car radio in the book.
A song that was released in 1969, the same year Apollo 11 landed on the moon, as well, so it's weird that Kubrick didn't keep that in as part of the story-line, if he was as some say, alluding to the Apollo missions, in The Shining, which it does appear that he was.
The year 1969 reminds me also of a song that I was sure King got the idea for The Shining from.
"So I called up the Captain,
Please bring me my wine"
He said, "We haven't had that spirit here since nineteen sixty nine"
And still those voices are calling from far away,
Wake you up in the middle of the night
Just to hear them say...
Welcome to the Hotel California
Such a lovely place (Such a lovely place)
Such a lovely face
They livin' it up at the Hotel California
What a nice surprise (what a nice surprise)
Bring your alibis"
I was sure King got the idea for 'The Shining' from the 'Hotel California' song, because King refers to the Management being The Overlook itself, which would suggest to most people's imagination someone like a satanic figure, if not the figure itself running the place.
It's stated in the ballroom "dream" part to Jack that the fire in the ballroom runs all year because all time is now, not only that, but the lady at the Denver Airport tells Hallorann that this is the worst snowstorm since 1969.
And that fact that Jack is battling the booze, which the hotel keeps trying to supply him with makes this verse from the song even more compelling to the above theory,
"So I called up the Captain,
"Please bring me my
wine"
He said, "We haven't had that spirit here since nineteen
sixty nine"
And still those voices are calling from far away,
Wake you up in the middle of the night
Just to hear them say...
"
But no, that song and King's novel were released the same month of the same year together, on a synchromystic note, served with
a plate of shrimp, no doubt?-)
Stovington Eagles?
Hotel California?
The Overlook Hotel?
Probably just a cosmic plate of shrimp, right?
I know it all sounds nuts, which is probably why 'Hotel California' was recorded under the 'Asylum Records' label;-)
42?
The same lady who had asked how old Don was also asked me how old Jewel was, and I said probably about 50.
Turns out Jewel is (2x3x7=)42:-)
Jewel is 42

Oh, and 'Repo Man' came out the same year as Paul Hogan's "shrimp"on the barbie ad, 1984.
Plate of shrimp?
Could be "fake news" but it was rumoured that chapter 69 of 'The Book of Lies' was why Crowley was let into the O.T.O.
"Chapter 69 of The Book of Lies, a written work of Aleister Crowley, where he uses the expression "The way to succeed and the way to suck eggs" as a pun for the 69 sex position ("suck seed" and "suck eggs").
Moreover, Crowley titled the chapter ΚΕΦΑΛΗΞΘ, Greek κεφαλη or "head" and ΞΘ or "69" (both slang in English for oral sex - but not the original ancient Greek words)."
"In his Confessions, Crowley discusses how the book was to lead to his joining Ordo Templi Orientis. He wrote each chapter at lunch or dinner "by the aid of Dionysos," with one chapter that was especially troubling. He eventually was able to get it written after much effort, but he remained dissatisfied and angry with it. Not too long after it had been published, he was visited by Theodor Reuss, then head of the order.
[Reuss]
said that since I was acquainted with
the supreme secret of the Order, I must be allowed the IX° and obligated in regard to it.
I protested that I knew no such secret.
He said, "But you have printed it in the plainest language." I said that I could not have done so because I did not know it. He went to the bookshelves and, taking out a copy of The Book of Lies, pointed to a passage in the despised chapter. It instantly flashed upon me. The entire symbolism, not only of freemasonry but of many other traditions, blazed upon my spiritual vision. From that moment the O.T.O. assumed its proper importance in my mind. I understood that I held in my hands the key to the future progress of humanity.
Aleister Crowley
sometimes said that this could not have happened the way he remembered it, since The Book of Lies had not yet come out when he joined the O.T.O. As previously mentioned, however, Wilson claims that the book lies about its publication date.
Assuming this event did take place, readers have suggested various possible chapters that might contain the secret. Wilson points to Chapter 69, "The Way to Succeed—and the Way to Suck Eggs!"
(sucking seed and sucking eggs referring to mutual oral sex), while Crowley's book De Arte Magica names
Chapter 36, "The Star Sapphire", a ritual related chapter."
Crowley's comment regarding The Star Sapphire in The Book of Lies states: The Star Sapphire corresponds with the Star-Ruby of Chapter 25; 36 being the square of 6, as 25 is of 5
This chapter gives the real and perfect Ritual of the Hexagram.
It would be improper to comment further upon an official ritual of the A.'.A.'.
An Analysis of the Star Sapphire
The Holy Hexagram
The "Holy Hexagram" is a reference to Chapter 69 in
The Book of Lies: The Way to Succeed—And the Way to Suck Eggs!
This is the Holy Hexagram. Plunge from the height, O God, and interlock with Man!
Plunge from the height, O Man, and interlock with Beast!
The Red Triangle is the descending tongue of grace; the Blue Triangle is the ascending tongue of prayer.
This Interchange, the Double Gift of Tongues, the Word of Double Power—ABRAHADABRA!is the sign of the GREAT WORK, for the GREAT WORK is accomplished in Silence.
And behold is not that Word equal to Cheth, that is Cancer, whose Sigil is
This Work also eats up itself, accomplishes its own end, nourishes the worker, leaves no seed, is per- fect in itself.
 Little children, love one another!
Crowley explains:
The key to the understanding of this chapter is given in the number and the title, the former being intelligible to all nations who employ Arabic figures, the latter only to experts in deciphering English puns.

As above, so below?
